Prof. Mike Jackson is the Director of the Centre for Geospatial Science (CGS), University of Nottingham, UK and Chair of the University Crime, Security and Defence Priority Group. CGS is a multi-disciplinary post-graduate research center focusing on geospatial intelligence, location-based services and geospatial interoperability.

David Schell is Chairman of the Open Geospatial Consortium, Inc. (OGC), which he founded in 1994 with both public and private sector support to evolve "OpenGIS" into a global standard for interoperable geoprocessing.

Prof. D.R. Fraser Taylor is Distinguished Research Professor and Director of the Geomatics and Cartographic Research Centre, Department of Geography and Environmental Studies, Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada. Professor Taylor's main research interests in cartography lie in the application of geomatics to the understanding of socio-economic issues.
