A past middle and high school technology and social studies teacher, Anita Palmer provides geospatial professional development and support and curriculum design to K-12 and higher education teachers and students. She is co-author of Mapping Our World: GIS Lessons for Educators, Community Geography: GIS in Action! Teacher’s Guide, the Our World series Mapping Our World and Analyzing Our World, and Going Places with GPS. Most recently, she is co-author of the Esri Earth Science, U.S. History, Elementary, and World History GeoInquiries as well as the pre-service and in-service text GIS for Teachers: A Guide to Authentic K-12 Integration and Application.
For eleven years, Anita has been a staff member for the Esri T3G institute and instructors for NGTC Geospatial Technology Summer Workshop in San Diego. Mrs. Palmer has been chosen as a 2019 National Geographic Education fellow. Anita is the president of the board of their non-profit, Geoporter.
