Andrew Dressel is a founder of MapInfo Corporation and currently director of MapInfo’s flagship desktop product line, MapInfo Professional. In this role, he is responsible for product development and marketing. From 1992 through 1997, Dressel was on sabbatical leave from MapInfo during which time he used his entrepreneurial talent to establish a business incubator in Kiev, Ukraine. He returned to MapInfo in August, 1997 and took the helm in developing new features for MapInfo’s core product.
Dressel is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY, where he and MapInfo’s three other co-founders developed the business plan for the company as part of a class project.
