Carl Reed III

Dr. Carl Reed is the Chief Technology Officer at the Open Geospatial Consortium, Inc. Dr. Reed continues to manage the process by which formal OGC Implementation Specifications are developed and adopted by the OGC membership, and he facilitates the Planning Committee meetings and work with the OGC Interoperability Program as a member of the architecture team. Before joining the OGC, Dr. Reed was vice president of geospatial marketing at Intergraph Corporation. Reed joined Intergraph in April 1998 after a long tenure at Genasys II, where he had served as chief technology officer for Genasys II worldwide. Dr. Reed received his PhD in Geography, specializing in GIS technology, from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1978.
