Monsieur Claude Obin Tapsoba occupe les fonctions de Directeur général de l’institut Géographique du Burkina (IGB) depuis 2002. Il a auparavant agit au titre de Directeur technique pour la même organisation. Monsieur Tapsoba a aussi cumulé entre 1992 et 2002 les fonctions d’Ingénieur Coordonnateur des travaux de délimitation de la frontière Burkina-Mali.
Il détient un diplôme d’Étude Supérieure Spécialisée (DESS) en Télédétection, un diplôme d’Ingénieur des Sciences Appliquées : option topographie, et un brevet de Technicien Topographe (BTT).
