Darrell Napton

Darrell Napton is a geographer whose research interests are land use change, environmental issues, and rural geography in the United States. He received geography degrees from the University of Missouri and the University of Minnesota. He is a professor of geography at South Dakota State University and visiting scientist at the U.S. Geological Survey’s EROS Data Center where he is working on a project to determine the major driving forces that have caused U.S. land changes since 1970. Dr. Napton is currently serving as the Association of American Geographers treasurer.
