Maurie Caitlin Kelly

Maurie Caitlin Kelly has been a member of the research faculty at Penn State Institutes for the Environment since 1997. Her areas of expertise include digital libraries, information science and information systems, GIS data clearinghouses, metadata and government information. Prior to joining PSIE, Maurie was an assistant professor and section head at the University of Illinois at Chicago in the Government Information, Maps and Education Department of the University Library. Currently Maurie serves as the coordinator for the geospatial data clearinghouse for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (PASDA) and as the Project Director for the PSIE component of the USGS Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Node of the NBII and has been the director of several FGDC funded metadata and web GIS initiatives. Other related efforts include serving as an advisor to the Explore PA History project and the Smart Conservation project and as the director of the Explore PA: Soaring the Ridges project. Her writings include numerous articles on government information and GIS data clearinghouses.
