Dr. Michael P. Bishop is a professor in the Department of Geography and Geology at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. He is currently on the Editorial boards of the journal of Geomorphology, Annals of the Association of American Geographers, and Praxis Scientific Publishing Company. Dr. Bishop has received awards in recognition of his research. He has published widely in books and scientific journals on topics in remote sensing, GIScience, and Earth science, and has presented over 150 professional talks. His work has been funded by the National Science Foundation, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, National Geographic Society, United States Geological Survey, and numerous foundations. He is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, Association of American Geographers, American Geophysical Union, American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, and the Geological Society of America.
