AGTI has a career opportunity for an Application Developer to work as a member of our team in Durango, CO.
Duties and Responsibilities:
This individual will play a key roll in the design/development of new emergency response solutions and enhancements to existing software applications. This individual will perform a variety of tasks relating to the design, development, testing, and documentation of software applications. The ideal candidate will have experience managing application development projects.
• Develops end user GIS applications with .NET (Visual Basic).
• Works within a team of programmers developing desktop, client-server and web applications.
• Utilizes work plans and project schedules for application development projects (MS Project).
• Participates in Project Management activities.
• Analyses problems and develops creative solutions with minimal guidance.
Job Requirements
• BS in Computer Science, Geography, GIS (or related field with computer emphasis).
• 2+ years recent experience developing end-user applications with .NET (Visual Basic).
• Work experience/knowledge converting VB6 code to VB.NET a plus.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Internet applications.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming techniques.
• Knowledge of XML a plus.
• Experience with a commercial RDBMS such as Oracle and SQL Server preferred.
• Experience with ArcGIS and other ESRI products preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, debugging, and problem solving skills.
• Strong project planning and leadership skills.
