Description of Position:
The GIS Specialist needs to be dedicated and self-motivated; someone who seeks technical challenges in a fast paced, quickly expanding business. This hands-on position involves developing and following complex technical workflows for a variety of GIS and web related tasks for a variety of GIS clients. The GIS Specialist must have the technical agility, focus, flexibility, enthusiasm and vision to complement such a work environment. has specialized and extensive training in GIS technology, such as geodatabase management, spatial data management and analysis, and GIS workflow development and re-engineering. The GIS Specialist, often in a team environment, provides user and technical support under the direction of a GIS manager (or Department manager if discipline-specific).
Required Qualifications:
The GIS Specialist must have the following minimum qualifications:
·2-3 years relevant experience.
·Solid understanding of GIS concepts including topology, cadastral control, spatial analysis, and geodatabases.
·Masters degree in a technological computer-related discipline (BS required).
·Demonstrated ability to quickly master new computer applications and languages.
·Demonstrated proficiency in at least one enterprise-level or web-based GIS platform.
·Proficiency in managing either Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle RDMS.
·Map production expertise.
·Proficiency in ArcGIS, Visio, and use of geodatabases.
