GIS Application Developer
Location:

Description of Position:
The Application Developer is responsible for: GIS system design, programming, documentation, the development, implementation, and integration of custom and COTS applications for client and internal projects. Responsibilities also include building custom components with ArcObjects and COM objects to extend the functionality of ESRI ArcGIS products. Application Developer will also contribute to geodatabase design, data manipulation, and GIS analysis work. Most client applications are developed in the .NET environment.
Required Qualifications:
The Application Developer must have the following minimum qualifications:
·BS in a science or engineering field (Masters Degree preferred)
·Comprehensive understanding of current spatial information and IT technologies
·Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ASP, JSP, Visual Basic, XML and ArcIMS
·Proficiency in Visual Basic, .NET, C, and/ or Java and COM object sets like ArcObjects
·Demonstrated GIS project management experience
·Demonstrated GIS application requirements definition experience
·Ability to communicate with both IT and domain specific experts
·Demonstrated ability to quickly master new computer applications and languages
·Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor project staff
·3-5 years experience in GIS development and/or computer science
