GIS Database Developer

Location:
Combination of San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento Area

Description of Position:
The GIS Database Developer will lead customers in the design, development, and deployment of GIS databases and related business applications. The majority of GIS consulting services work will involve use of ESRI ArcGIS, Geodatabase, and ArcSDE solutions as well as Oracle and SQL Server RDBMS applications. Applied experience is a plus in the migration of ESRI coverage, shape file, and CAD data into Geodatabase and ArcSDE structures. The successful candidate will lead client GIS/IS staff and facilitate offsite staff in the completion of various enterprise GIS database and application design and development projects.

Required Qualifications:
The GIS Database Developer must have the following minimum qualifications:
·BS in a science or engineering field (Masters Degree preferred)
·Comprehensive understanding of current spatial information and IT technologies.
·Proficiency in managing both Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle RDMS
·Experience in GIS requirements for Computer-Aided Dispatch and public safety applications.
·Demonstrated GIS project management experience.
·Ability to communicate with both IT and domain specific experts.
·Demonstrated geodatabase modeling expertise.
·Demonstrated ability to quickly master new computer applications and languages.
·Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor project staff.
·5 years experience in GIS development and/or computer science.
·Proficiency in ArcGIS, ArcSDE, Visual Basic, XML, Oracle Spatial, PL/SQL application development and administration of databases.
·CAD geofile development experience.
