Baseline Business Geographics Inc. has an immediate opening for a Programmer. You will be part of a team that is responsible for developing, testing, implementing and supporting new software systems.
Baseline has developed a line of Internet based products which we are marketing throughout North America. Part of your responsibilities will be to assist in porting those applications to the Microsoft .Net environment and helping in the evolution of our product line.
The successful applicant must have a Bachelor of Computer Science and a minimum of two years experience. In addition to Visual Basic and Visual Studio.net, our development work uses HTML, DHTML, JavaScript and various scripting languages. Any experience in C, Oracle, mySQL or Access is an advantage, but not essential. A working knowledge of the Internet, web servers, Windows2000 server management, security and virus prevention is necessary. You may find yourself configuring a web server from scratch including all the software installation and optimisation.
You will report to the Senior Programmer and be able to work independently and in a team environment. You will sometimes be given smaller assignments to manage on your own, with the aim that you will eventually be able to manage large development projects yourself. You will be expected to learn the MapInfo object model by both completing exercises and while undertaking real development work. You will be given classroom training in MapInfo Professional and other software as required, followed by mentoring in the object model and various exercises.
Baseline is located in downtown Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. We offer competitive salaries and benefits package. If you are interested in joining our organization, please provide a resume in confidence by February 2, 2007 to info@baselinegeo.com.
