MetaCarta, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced web Producer to join its Content Services team in Cambridge, MA. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to the development, deployment and management of new content based services that extend the value of MetaCartas unique geographic search solutions to its current customers, and expands the markets to which MetaCarta sells its products.
Key Responsibilities include:
Work in close cooperation with internal departments, customers and partners to gather and define requirements for vertical market search services.
Research, identify and prioritize content sources.
Manage technical tools and critical path involved with content acquisition and indexing (e.g., web crawlers, feeds, etc.)
Proactively track and forecast usage metrics for program optimization.
Collect and analyze user feedback with regard to service quality and usability.
Participate in acceptance testing of new services and service upgrades.
Work with Marketing to develop promotional materials.
Work with technical support, engineering and product management to resolve technical product and quality of service related issues.
Maintain and update search indexes for quality, currency and legal requirements.
Generate and implement strategies to continue to grow service offerings.
Attend trade shows and conferences as necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
College degree required.
3+ years experience in online content or search related business.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in a highly organized manner.
Project management experience and ability to handle multiple time-sensitive projects and competing priorities.
Experience working with cross functional teams, such as product management, sales, marketing, technical support to resolve problems and provide input into new features and products.
Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization.
Proficient with MS Office, Blogs, and other web based tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication and analytical skills.
Superior listening skills to effectively ascertain customer requirements and to appropriately respond with concepts and ideas that meet customer needs.
Goal oriented, self-directed and self-motivated within a team environment.
Outgoing, proactive, professional multi-tasker with strategic and analytic skills.
Flexibility to travel up to 10% per month.
