Applied Geographics, Inc. (AppGeo) has an opening in our Boston office and seeks a talented and motivated person to join the company’s state and local government team. AppGeo was founded in 1991 to provide GIS professional services to a wide-range of customers. The successful applicant will join a professional staff focused on applying GIS and related technologies to satisfy specific customer needs.
This position entails both hands on GIS software skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong communication skills are required for both direct customer interaction and acting as a liaison between the client and AppGeo technical staff (i.e. data development and programming staff). Applicants should have a minimum of 2+ years of experience with the ESRI suite of software products and have very strong knowledge of GIS concepts and applications.
Job Requirements
Applicants should have working knowledge in some or all of the following areas: data collection methods and GPS, data automation techniques, GUI design, application programming, internet mapping, land records research, tax parcel and utility mapping, as well as other municipal government applications of GIS (e.g. public safety, permitting, et al).
Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in GIS or a related field and a minimum of 2+ years of professional experience. Past project management and municipal government GIS experience is highly desirable. Past experience working in a municipal government setting is strong plus. Salary will be commensurate with skills and experience.
