The Senior Industry Manager for State and Local Government will be responsible for developing Autodesk's geospatial solutions in this segment and delivering them to market.
Autodesk is already an established market leader in geospatial software solutions including mapping and GIS, as well as civil engineering design and analysis.
This is a unique opportunity to lead Autodesks next generation geospatial solution strategy for state and local governments, requiring a unique individual.
The position requires advanced skills in the following:
Market Strategy and Business Development:
- The Sr. Industry Manager will be responsible for Autodesks solution map and positioning for the state and local government market. Solutions consist of a combination of Autodesk and partner technologies, consulting services, and delivery through an ecosystem of partners including VARs, ISVs, and SIs.
- The Sr. Industry Manager will define required partnerships, craft mutually beneficial value propositions, negotiate the business deal to create a full solution, and ensure the partnership is well managed and delivers on revenue goals.
- The candidate will possess contacts in the ecosystem of contractors and organizations that service state and local government agencies and hit the ground running.
Solution Management and Marketing:
- The Sr. Industry Manager will work with the product management team to ensure MRDs reflect market requirements and that solution delivery is in synch with the development roadmap. He or she will spend a considerable amount of time meeting with customers to gather requirements.
- The Sr. Industry Manager will work closely with product marketing to ensure development of accurate and compelling messaging, positioning, and sales support material.
- He or She will be the focal point for the Autodesk state and local government community, and will demonstrate Autodesks thought leadership through associations, tradeshows, user groups, etc.
Execution:
- The Sr. Industry Manager, together with the Sales team, will set revenue targets along with the strategies and tactics to achieve those targets.
- He or she must be highly process oriented, data-driven, customer-focused and have strong execution skills.
- The Sr. Industry Manager will also work closely with Autodesk Consulting to develop the delivery mechanism for solutions.
- He or she will ensure the consulting team is adequately prepared to go to market and that they are aligned with complementary solution and delivery partners.
Leadership Skills:
- The Sr. Industry Manager will be expected to build and lead a cross-functional team composed of Product Management, Sales, Engineering, Marketing, PR, Consulting, Sales Engineers, Field Marketing and subject matter experts.
- He or she needs to be able to communicate well, command respect, be a confident leader, and guide the entire team to deliver against aggressive deliverables.
GeoSpatial Information Technology:
- The Sr. Industry Manager will be very familiar with applications of geospatial technology in state and local government, as well as the business processes that lead to its implementation.
- The candidate will have had experience developing and/or delivering geospatial solutions to state and local government agencies.
Job Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
- The position requires core skills in business planning/market analysis, product management, business development, and project management/execution.
- Subject matter expertise in GIS, public works, infrastructure design, operations, purchasing, and management issues for state and local government is required.
- Ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in product management/business development in software solutions directed at the state and local government market segment.
- MBA preferred.
TRAVEL:
- Position is based in San Rafael, CA. Approximately 50% travel will be required to meet with customers, partners, sales teams, and industry contacts.
