Job Description

Work as a business geographics technology application and solution specialist with the ESD sales force and properly position the complete line of Centrus technologies with our prospects in order to win business opportunities for Group 1. The Solution Sales Engineer (SSE) has the responsibility to achieve technical closure for opportunities that are commercially qualified.

Essential Duties

* Flexibility and desire to travel to customer sites (70%).

* Jointly responsible for supporting Sales Reps and Regional Sales Engineers in generating revenue.

* Assess technical qualifications of prospects in order to discover and document their needs and (versus) wants.

* Architect a Group 1 solution for prospects' environment.

* Confidently communicate Group 1's capabilities (products and services) to prospects.

* Perform customer demonstrations, installations, and pilots of Group 1 Centrus technology products.

* Perform technical presentations and hold discussions relating to Centrus software.

* Follow-up on accounts on technical issues related to the sales cycle.

* Perform needs analysis and RFP/RFI responses.

* Provide seminar and trade show support.

Additional Duties

* Educate Sales Reps on new product and service capabilities.

* Keep current with technology/industry trends.

* Participate in product futures discussions.

* Capture and document product and service enhancement opportunities and communicate to Product Management.

Job Requirements

Required Experience/Specialized Knowledge

* Experience with Geo/Spatial data and applications.

* Industry vertical knowledge (insurance, telecommunications, utilities, taxation, logistics).

* Excellent presentation, communication (verbal & written), and interpersonal skills.

* Familiarity with WIN and UNIX O/S, with in-depth understanding of at least on of these.

* Strong understanding of the sales process.

* Understanding of web-related technologies, especially related to web-based application deployment.

* 6+ years of experience in a software sales engineering and/or professional services environment.

* Must enjoy working in a sales environment and have the ability to succeed in a team/solution selling environment.

* Must be self-motivated and have an entrepreneurial spirit.

Preferred Experience/Specialized Knowledge

* Experience using Group 1 or competitor's products.

* Experience coding in different languages such as Visual Basic, C/C++, and/or Java/JavaScript.

* Product integration experience with legacy systems, databases (Oracle, DB@, etc.), and/or packaged applications (Seibel, Peoplesoft, SAP, etc.).

* Experience developing simple applications.
