QA Manager (Orion Technology | Product Development)

As a member of the Software Quality Engineering team you will work directly with management and software development teams to build an organization that balances quality software development and business goals. You will identify and setup process improvement opportunities, develop solutions that capitalize on these opportunities, and then work with the teams to implement the solutions. An ideal candidate would have previous experience in development.
This position will work with a variety of stakeholders to make our product more intuitive, simple, and powerful. Responsibilities:
* Devise testing strategy by studying project objectives, specifications and timetables. Cross train extended project team on test method, process and strategies. Be the Quality advocate for the organization
* Continually improve and implement new QA processes and tools to enhance the overall development effort
* Verify that project documentation is sufficiently detailed to support development of test cases
* Manage the QA team – mentoring, guiding, and building of the team as well as performance evaluation and employee development
* Create, maintain and own all test environments and associated data
* Be a hands on player: Perform functional, integration, system and performance testing using manual and automated methods; Identify, log and track issues on the system being tested; record all test results and report on test progress
* Be proficient with CMMI level 3 or 4 business practices, as well as engineering and program management processes

* Passionate about Quality – understand and represent the importance and value of quality in the development of a product
* Demonstrated proficiency with QA concepts, issues, methods, and tools and will demonstrate a detailed understanding of the software testing methods and software development processes used by an organization
* Demonstrated technical leadership and mentoring, the ability to research and identify test requirements, and the ability to define test plans for all aspects of software testing including functional, integration, performance, stress, and scalability testing
* Ability to define test cases and scripts based on documented testing requirements and test plans, ability to prepare reports and analyses on tests and test results, and demonstration of a thorough knowledge of software testing issues, methods, metrics, and resources
* Demonstrated knowledge and skill using multiple scripting languages (e.g. TestComplete) that are commonly used in test script automation
* Track recording of isolating complex issues so that they can be reliably reproduced
* Extensive knowledge in software design, development, integration and testing methodologies specific to GIS and .NET based applications
* Experience in setting up a test environment for a data driven web application
* Proven ability to lead teams of 4-5 people
* Excellent verbal and written skills, team working and negotiation skills

Required Experience:
* 5+ years of web testing experience
* 2+ years of product experience
* 3+ years QA Management
* Certified ASQ Certified Software Quality Engineer
* BS or MS in engineering or computer science or equivalent experience
