Farallon Geographics is seeking an innovative and enthusiastic Geographic Information System (GIS) Database Developer to join our geospatial systems integration team. We are a small team looking for a talented and energetic person who can provide technical expertise and can work in parallel on multiple projects.
The GIS Database Developer will lead project teams (often including customers) in the design, development, and deployment of GIS databases and related business applications. The successful candidate will work closely with our team and clients to develop cutting-edge, spatially aware applications and innovative integration projects.

Job Requirements
Required Qualifications:
* BS in a science, computer science, or engineering field, or the equivalent experience.
* 2+ years working with either Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle RDMS.
* Proficiency in PL/SQL or T-SQL application development and administration of databases.
* Proficiency in developing and intelligently deploying triggers and stored procedures
* Experience tuning and debugging database performance issues
* Experience in designing, testing, and documenting data models.
* Ability to communicate effectively with technical staff and non-technical clients.
* Comfortable leading small, agile technical teams working with innovative and new technologies to develop easy-to-use applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Ability to develop data models for geographically referenced information
* Comfortable working with and processing large datasets
* Experience with ESRI ArcSDE.
* Experience with native database geometry types (e.g., Oracle SDO_geometry,
* Postgres/PostGIS geometry) is very desirable.
* ETL experience
* Experience and strong interest in mashing up dynamic data feeds with Google Earth, Microsoft Virtual Earth, and traditional GIS systems.
