Job Description

Utilize your knowledge of the ESRI geodatabase schema and behavior and your strong customer service skills to provide timely, expert assistance to our customers by phone and e-mail.

Responsibilities
• Provide high-quality support to end users of ESRI software to help them solve technical problems quickly and effectively
• Document technical issues through incident tracking, Knowledge Base articles, and submission of software defect/enhancement requests
• Test software and hardware to troubleshoot issues and evaluate solutions
• Determine or recommend software changes to programmers/software engineers
• Apply and further develop problem-solving skills, communication skills, creativity, and knowledge of ESRI products
• More experienced candidates may also teach and author GIS software, developer, and database training courses, conduct technical workshops, and perform short-term on-site consulting assignments related to database administration

Job Requirements

• A B.S./M.S. degree or equivalent or work experience in GIS, geography, computer science, information systems, engineering, environmental science, urban planning, or a related field
• Strong grasp of the English language including grammar, punctuation, and consistency
• Familiarity with GIS and technical terms and the ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely
• Strong analytical/problem-solving skills
• Strong customer service skills
• Knowledge of the ESRI geodatabase schema and behavior
• Familiarity with advanced ESRI client functionality related to databases such as making ArcSDE geodatabase connections, general ArcSDE setup and configuration, geometric networks, subtypes and domains, and versioning

Recommended Qualifications
• Customer service/software support experience
• One to five years of hands-on experience in database design and administration (DB2, SQL Server, Oracle, and/or Informix)
• Demonstrated knowledge administering Windows, UNIX, and/or Linux systems
