Job Description:
Debug software solutions through the use of systematic tests to develop, apply and maintain quality standards for company applications. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Develop and execute software test plans and cases
* Prepare test data
* Perform functional testing duties
* Run and maintain test automation scripts for regression testing
* Report bugs, track defects, resolve issues with software developers
* Track problem reports using issue tracking software (FogBugz)
* Keep track of new requirements
* Collaborate with developers to create responsive and compelling user interactions
* Participate in software design reviews
* Analyze and write test standards, procedures and reports
* Maintain documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software
* Analyze test results to ensure existing functionality and recommend corrective action
* Maintain and monitor continuous integration server
Desired Skills:
* 3-5 years experience in QA methodology, process, tools and DBMS technologies
* Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems
* Ability to lead QA efforts on multiple projects including gathering and publishing quality metrics, follow up on testing tasks, work with project managers, and report status for a team of people
* Programming experience in the .Net framework with C# or Java
* Programming experience with GIS platforms including ESRI and open source GIS solutions
* Ability to assess the priority and severity of issues
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Strong analytical, logical and problem-solving skills
* Good sense of humor
Required Technical Expertise:
* Experience with procedural scripting languages such as VBscript, Javascript, Python.
* Experience with web technologies such as HTML and CSS.
* Experience testing database-centric applications built on MS SQL Server 2000/2005
* Experience in SQL language for testing and troubleshooting
* Experience with SQL Enterprise Manager or other database management tools
* Experience in one or more defect tracking and/or test management tools (Trac, Gemini, FogBugz, etc.)
