I.M. Systems Group, Inc. (IMSG) (www.imsg.com) is looking for highly motivated individuals to join our team efforts to support NOAA/NESDIS/Center for SaTellite Applications Research (STAR). IMSG supports STAR in applied science research and development efforts in a semi-research and semi-operational working environment along with U.S. government scientists, visiting scientists, and other contractors. IMSG is currently looking to hire an Atmospheric Scientist to be involved with exploratory research analysis for mechanisms of sun-earth connection. This position will be located at the NOAA/NCEP/EMC office in Camp Springs, MD.
Duties:
Perform independent and/or guided research by NOAA leading scientist on the analysis of atmospheric waves and the potential extraction of solar signals
Provide independent data analysis, graphic display, and writing summaries of key findings
Write papers ready for scientific journal peer-review that documenting/presenting analyses and findings.

Job Requirements
Requirements:
MS or above in atmospheric science, space weather and related geophysical science fields.
Experienced with IDL programming
Strong background on atmospheric dynamics and/or climate dynamics
Sufficient background on advanced statistics (signal processing and time series analysis)
Good English communication skills
Good English writing skills
