Job Description

Provide technical vision, design, and project leadership in this role serving as a product evangelist for ArcGIS Desktop. This is a challenging opportunity for an accomplished GIS professional with proven experience to help define and lead new software development efforts for ArcGIS.

Responsibilities
• Work with lead software engineers to define, build, and release GIS software
• Capture key user workflows and functions that will be engineered into the software
• Synthesize user requirements, industry needs, and competitive analysis into an effective product specification
• Provide direction and lead teams
• Oversee various projects and work with managers to set goals and milestones
• Communicate the goals and progress of the ArcGIS Desktop team to various audiences
• Help to define and implement division-wide project management efforts

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's in computer science, GIS, or related field, depending upon position level
• A minimum of five years of advanced GIS experience in mapping, geodata management, or geoprocessing projects
• Special insight into how to apply GIS
• Desire to define new GIS technology for use by GIS practitioners
• Creative problem solving skills and ability to propose solutions
• Proven leadership experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Recommended Qualifications
• Presentation skills
• Programming background with languages such as C#, VB, or Java
• Consulting background
• Project management or planning experience on project teams
