Responsibilities include:
• Design and develop web based, SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) applications written in a Java/Weblogic environment with work that spans the front end to the data tier.
• Design and develop Web 2.0 applications using Flex 2.01.
• Integrate the current desktop platform and functionally to be exposed through web services and displayed through Web 2.0 technologies such as Flex.
• Develop and enhance the current GIS system and create interactive mapping applications.
• Strong understanding of GIS systems.
• Experience using and working on GIS projects using Map Info or other related products.
• Mentor other members of the team while providing input and guidance on architecture and engineering principles.
• Communicate designs, implementations, and issues between other team members.
• Work with Product Management, Project Management, Quality Assurance and Clients to help clarify or validate stated work products on an as needed basis.
Job Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in technology field
• 2+ years experience in Java development
• Experience with J2EE, JDBC, and object orientation required
• Experience with Adobe Flex is a plus.
• Experience with Map Info, ESRI, or Google Mapping API is a plus.
• J2EE application server knowledgeable
• 2+ years experience in SQL and relational databases
• Optional, but is a plus: AJAX, CSS, HTML, JSP
• Optional, but is a plus: Experience with PL/SQL in Oracle
