MapInfo Programmer (Claritas Inc)

Claritas Inc. (www.claritas.com), the premier provider of intelligent marketing information and target marketing services in a business to business environment, has an exciting opportunity for a Map Info Developer.

The Map Info Developer will be responsible for designing, developing and Claritas products and solutions that use imbedded Map Info Products.

Responsibilities Include:
• Participate in the project definition stages to identify project goals and areas of risk. Provide feedback on time estimates during the release planning process.
• Design, develop and maintain Mapping and GIS solutions using Map Info Pro and Map Extreme Java technologies.
• Prepare technical documentation.
• Write unit tests and conduct integration tests. Perform bug verification and fix.
• May assist in customer related issues.

• BA/BS in Computer Science, or related engineering field.
• 4-5 years experience designing and developing Mapping and GIS solutions. Strong in Map Basic, Java and C# (.Net). Knowledge of OO design is preferred. Broad industry knowledge.
• Solid understanding of GIS concepts.
• Ability to create themes, layouts, and other mapping components using Map Basic and Map Extreme Java.
• Ability to debug complex mapping issues in Map Info Pro or Map Extreme Java.
• Knowledge of ESRI Arcview or other ESRI products is a plus.
• Knowledge of mature software development processes is a must.
• Knowledge of market research, data warehousing is a plus.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
