This position reports to the Director of Sales and will be based primarily in our Norwich, VT headquarters. Main responsibilities include: prospecting and closing new business within our GIS data division, maintaining and growing existing accounts, and accurately updating progress in SFA software.
Responsibilities:
New Business: proactively sell Maponics location data to businesses with a focused strategy and “no excuses” attitude:
• research and target prime verticals and companies hunter mentality with ability to make daily outbound cold calls
• target the appropriate role within the organization
• responsible for entire sales cycle and closing profitable business
Account Management: dedicated customer service, such that you are the go-to person for this customer for all assistance including:
• consistently expanding our contact network within the company
• creating and executing on a plan for regularly probing their needs
• developing a “key facts” knowledge of these customers such as: organizational structure of enterprise; financial status; functional areas within their org that feed into and out of the services we provide (dependencies)
• advocating customer needs to enhance internal Product Development initiatives
• being a team player
• attending customer-specific trade shows and/or customers with specific objectives
Job Requirements
Expected Skills/Experience:
The skills needed for this position include the following abilities:
• at least four (4) years of experience in customer-intensive positions selling high-tech products, two (2) of which must have been in a New Business or Account Management capacity selling high-tech information (intangible) products
• proven experience acquiring and growing accounts
• ability to document and communicate customer requirements to the Production team
• excels within a start-up environment
• experience with contact management tools and discipline to use them
• exceptional phone and writing skills
• proactive work ethic & proven sales skills
• exceptional time management skills
• true concern for customer’s needs and listening skills to uncover the non obvious
• Bachelor’s Degree or above
