GIS DataBase Coordinator (Peninsula Light Company | Engineering)

Provides functional leadership to the GIS group; serves as Lead GIS Specialist, Develops, implements and maintains the Company’s GIS data base system, Project coordinator for Engineering and IS projects and data base systems, Develops queries and reports of GIS information, Serves as resident expert on GIS and CAD computer applications, Establishes and maintains GIS Mapping system procedures.
Thorough working knowledge of computer operations, Ability to interpret and understand utility mapping symbols and survey data, Ability to give functional leadership to other GIS professionals, Must be capable of working independently without specific direction and to effectively establish work priorities.

The equivalent of a high school education and Certificate of completion or a degree in computer aided drafting from an accredited vocational technical school or college required (**). Five (5) years recent work experience in AutoCad required, preferably in mapping for a utility. Demonstrated ability of leadership in the GIS profession. Thorough understanding of GIS applications required. Experience in Certalogic GIS or similar GIS preferred. AutoLisp programming capability desired. Strong working knowledge of Database development and SQL required. Must be capable of typing twenty-five (25) words per minute. Individual must have a valid Washington State driver's license at the time of hire.
(**) Note: Three (3) years recent mapping experience combined with two (2) years Certalogic experience, for a total of five (5) years mapping experience, may be substituted for certificate or degree.
