Job Description

Apply your GIS knowledge and communication skills in a new way on the ESRI Presales and Solution Engineering Team to support our sales staff. Energetic, driven professionals are needed to think outside the box and help promote ESRI solutions to utility accounts throughout the U.S.

Collaborate with colleagues throughout the company to help our customers discover the right geospatial solution. Team members use their passion for technology and GIS knowledge to be an active participant in the sales cycle and demonstrate the value of GIS to solve real problems. In addition to in-depth functional experience with GIS software, the team has a strong understanding of geospatial technology and knowledge of database design and technologies, networking, and application development environments.

Responsibilities:
Work closely with account executives to understand client requirements and help formulate appropriate GIS solutions.
Develop demos and proof of concepts in concert with sales priorities.
Present complex GIS technical demonstrations to various levels of staff in a diverse range of customer organizations.
Support ESRI customers with product expertise and best-practice assistance.
Participate in trade shows, user groups, product demonstrations, and major release software rollouts throughout the nation.
Support the national utility team in various technical activities.

Job Requirements

Bachelors or masters in geography, computer science, or a related field, depending upon position level.
A minimum of two years of experience with ArcGIS Desktop using editing tools and creating geodatabases.
A minimum of two years of experience working in or with utility companies.
Experience with DBMS technology such as SQL Server, DB2, Oracle, and Access and with basic database design and associated methods and technologies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a small, highly-skilled team.
General knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking.
Ability to travel on a regular basis.

Recommended Qualifications:
Ability to troubleshoot client issues.
Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and listening skills.
Experience promoting products and/or applications.
Some programming and scripting experience such as .NET, Java, Python, VBS.
Experience with ArcGIS Server Web applications or other Web application development.
