General Summary
The Customer Service Technician is responsible for supporting customers and the sales staff in GlobeXplorer products and content questions. Your ability to trouble shoot and solve web mapping issues, GIS software content management, and earth imagery data inquiries quickly is paramount. Your expert knowledge of GIS, image processing, and Internet mapping will be applied in many ways, including supporting GlobeXplorer’s online archive. You will receive detailed training on GlobeXplorer’s core products and report technical issues back to the Product Management Team. Strong verbal and written communication skills required

Duties and Responsibilities
This is a non-exempt, salary position reporting to the Content Management Group. This position will:

1. Customer Service: Provide email and phone support to users of ImageAtlas and ImageConnect. Manage client accounts and resolve billing issues.
2. Sales Support: Provide technical support to sales team regarding online content library. Setup evaluation and customer accounts. Research and locate content over customers AOIs (“areas of interest”). Create coverage maps both online and offline.
3. Technical Support: Resolve content and software bugs or report technical and functionality issues to Product Development Team.
4. Order Fulfillment: Prepare work orders from sales quotes; prepare Aerial and Satellite imagery for delivery including creating coverage maps, metadata, packaging and shipping to customers.

Requirements

Skills: Working knowledge of a GIS software suite such as MapInfo, AutoCAD Map, or ESRI’s ArcView, ArcGIS required. Strong MS Office skills especially Excel and/or Access. Familiar with most commonly used Internet browsers, FTP, and Internet protocols required.

Experience: 3-5 years experience in the Aerial and/or Satellite imagery business or related GIS or property site selection fields.

Desired Knowledge/Skills

· Use or knowledge of ArcIMS, MapGuide, MapExtreme.
· Knowledge of Adobe and Macromedia software.
· Experience with print output or large format plotting.
