Senior GIS Specialist/Project Manager (Axis Geospatial LLC)

AXIS has an immediate opening in our Headquarter office in Easton, MD for a GIS Specialist/Project Manager. AXIS currently performs GIS services for Federal, State & Local Government Agencies as well as various private sector clients. AXIS’ primary GIS focus is in E911 Mapping and GIS Base Mapping and is seeking a candidate for this position with similar experience.

This position requires hands-on GIS and IT skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong communication skills are required for both direct customer interaction and acting as a liaison between the client and AXIS technical specialists. Applicants should also have very strong knowledge of GIS/IT system integration and software specifications, and have a minimum of 5 years of experience with the ESRI suite of software products, SQL Server and/or Oracle RDBMS.

Applicants should have working knowledge of implementing GIS and IT for both public and private sectors and in some or all of the following areas: system planning; data collection methods; database and application configuration as well as other Internet and desktop applications of GIS.

Candidates should have, at a minimum, a Bachelor’s degree in a field related to GIS/IT, GISP Certification, and 5 years of professional experience. Project Management Certification and/or Project management credentials (e.g. budgeting, scheduling, customer relationship management and business development) are highly desirable. Moderate overnight travel required (5 – 10 trips annually) as well as frequent day-trips to client locations. Salary will be commensurate with skills and experience.
