General Summary:
Join Autodesk’s Geospatial Solutions Team! The Senior Industry Manager for Government will be responsible for developing Autodesk’s geospatial solutions for government and delivering them to market. Autodesk is already an established market leader in enterprise geospatial software solutions including mapping and GIS, as well as civil engineering design and analysis. This is a unique opportunity to lead Autodesk’s next generation geospatial solution strategy for government, requiring a unique individual.
Job Requirements
The position requires core skills in business planning/market analysis, product management, business development, and project management/execution.
Subject matter expertise in GIS infrastructure design, operations, purchasing, and management issues for state, local, and federal government is required.
Ideal candidate will have 7 – 10 years of experience in product management/business development in Enterprise Solutions directed at the government market segment. MBA preferred.
Travel
Travel to meet with customers and industry contacts, primarily in the DC area, and to San Rafael, CA to to meet with Marketing, Engineering, and Consulting management.

Market Entry Strategy and Business Development
The Sr. Industry Manager will be responsible for the development and delivery of solutions for the government market. Solutions will consist of a combination of software and services and will be delivered through an ecosystem of partners and Autodesk resources, while leveraging Autodesk’s core geospatial technologies. The candidate will have a significant rolodex of contacts within federal, state, and local government agencies that can be leveraged to validate solutions.
The Sr. Industry Manager will be responsible for identifying go-to-market partners. He or she will define required partnerships, craft mutually beneficial value propositions for a partnerships, negotiate the business deal to create a full solution, and ensure the partnership is well managed and delivers on revenue goals. The candidate will posses contacts in the ecosystem of contractors and organizations that service federal, state, and local government agencies and hit the ground running.
Product Management
The Sr. Industry Manager will work in tandem with the Autodesk Infrastructure Solutions Division’s core product management team to ensure software product features meet market requirements and the solution delivery is in synch with the development roadmap. He or she will spend a considerable amount of time meeting with customers to gather requirements. The Sr. Industry Manager will work closely with product marketing to ensure development of accurate and compelling messaging, positioning, and sales support material.
The Sr. Industry Manage will also work closely with Autodesk Consulting to develop the delivery mechanism for solutions. He or she will ensure AC is adequately prepared to go to market and that they are aligned with complementary solution and delivery partners.
