Required Qualifications:
To be considered for the role of GIS Analyst applicants must possess:
· Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis
· A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a GIS-related field with a concentration or certificate in GIS
· 2-3 years related GIS work experience
· Ability to multi-task and work on a number of projects at the same time
· Good writing and interpersonal skills
· Ability to create informative, visually appealing maps and presentations (please provide examples)
· Experience with ArcMap and ArcCatalog
· Proven experience manipulating and converting between GRID, shapefiles, Geodatabase feature classes, KML,KMZ, e00, etc
· Command of the editing tools within ArcMap
· Knowledge of data-driven cartography and map production
· Proven experience using spatial analysis and model builder
· Firm understanding of coordinate systems, datum, projections
· Comfort with working both in a team setting and independently.
· Willingness to learn and suggest new GIS applications
Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the required qualifications the successful candidate is likely to be able to demonstrate:
· A degree or certification in GIS.
· Experience creating visualizations
· Experience using Publisher and ArcServer
· Experience creating ecological or natural resource assessments, suitability modeling, cost estimation, programming, and remote sensing
· Advanced skills in cartography
· Competent programming skills and web development such as Python and VBA
· Ability to generate scripts and incorporate logic into them
· Ability to integrate GIS into other applications such as larger database structures and MS products (Excel, Access, etc)
· Broad-based experience and a good working knowledge of land agreements, land systems, legal descriptions and computer based mapping.
