Job Function

I am combining the power of our GIS department with the Development Department, in order to provide the solution to our client. It is a consulting job, which required technical skills.

The background needed to get current job

Knowing MapInfo was a great advantage that has been combined with the fact that I was working with Business GIS for 12 years.

What do you like/not like about this career track?

Every case is a totally deferent problem, and that the challenge. There are some problems that looks like the same, but in detailed they are completely deferent.

What do you really spend your time doing?

• Writing technical statements that will be included in the proposal.
• Perform training
• Having Project Management on proposed projects

What advice would you give somebody who wants to get into this area?

Look at the geographical and technical part mostly, but take a small look on the business part also. Knowing the business will make you understand (read between the lines) what the business man (clients) wants to tell you, and make you select the best solution for them.

What plans do you have for your career?

It is time now to be a GIS Manager in a big Organization. Mostly in the telecoms area.

What do you do for fun?

I like to go to the movies, listen to the music. In fact I like playing music and I am just starting drums lessons
