We are currently seeking an experienced GIS application developer to join our team of talented IT professionals.  You will work with the team to create innovative web-based geospatial solutions for our clients, including web mapping applications and geospatial web services.  The ideal candidate must be passionate about their work, have excellent problem solving skills, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with the latest technologies.

Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and support web-based GIS applications.

- Help define and document standards for geospatial data and application framework.

- Provide GIS, database, and mapping support to the user community.

- Participate in all phases of the system development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.

- Experience with front end Javascript mapping API (Google Maps, ArcGIS Server Javascript API, OpenLayers, Yahoo, etc.)

- Experience with geospatial data formats such as shapefiles, KML, GeoJSON as well as Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) standards and protocols (WMS, WFS, SLD, etc.)

- Proficient with web development languages and protocols such as Javascript, HTML, AJAX, XML, SQL.

- Good understanding of enterprise software architecture.

- Oracle Spatial, PostGIS, Unix/Linux shell scripting, Actionscript/Flash development desired.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

- Java Enterprise Edition (JEE) experience a plus.

- iPhone/Android development a plus.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to adapt to changing requirements.

- Interest in learning new technologies and ability to work independently.
