First Certificate Recipients at UW-Stevens Point and other Education GIS News

The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point has issued the first certificates in its one-year geographic information systems program.

Seven students received the professional certification from the 18-credit program, which began this past fall.

For those who are unclear: this is NOT professional certification in the sense of GISP or becoming at Esri Certfied whatever. It's really too bad the language is so close.

UWSP is also offering self-paced online first GIS course for ArcGIS 10.1 for $250 and a face to face course in GIS in forestry.

The GeoTech Center reports that  presentations (PDF) from Jefferson Technical and Community College's GeoEd Conference and Workshops in Louisville KY are online here.

The ISD Geospatial Office [Alabama] is hosting a training workshop that has the GIS Professional in mind and will focus on career, management and leadership skills. Join us at the AUM campus (http://aum.edu/) on Friday, July 6th. No cost to attend.
