The House Energy and Commerce Committee’s subpanel on Oversight on Friday will have a look at how the FCC handled the LightSquared effort to build out terrestrial Wi-Fi. Republicans have questioned how the company got as far as it did before the government pretty much shut the plan down due to its interference with GPS.
The hearing, titled “The LightSquared network: An investigation of the FCC’s role” will examine whether the FCC followed its own policies, procedures and precedents, according to a committee news release.
