Gates Foundation Grant to VSolvit and other Health GIS News

VSolvit is a Grand Challenges Explorations winner, an initiative funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The company's project, Geospatial Optimization Tool, is based on GIS.

VSolvit's project, the Geospatial Optimization Tool (GOT), is an interactive mapping application with advanced data analysis capabilities that can be used to improve the performance of immunization logistics and supply systems. VSolvit's goal is to demonstrate how Geographical Information Systems (GIS) can be used as a tool to solve complex health care issues, thereby improve global health care.

Esri's Bill Davehall, who works in GIS and health, is profiled, along with Esri solutions at Atlantic Cities.

The UK's Health Services Journal provides an interacitve map of the 212 clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) set to take over National Health Serivice budgets in April next year. It includes size, population, indicative administration budget, indicative total budget, and population deprivation. Technology used: Tableau.
