ZDNet reports that Marissa Mayer, Google's former vice president of Local, Maps & Location Services was appointed CEO of Yahoo. The ZDNet article goes on to say that even though she has been with the Mountain View, Calif.-based enterprise since 1999 when she joined as Google's 20th employee, The New York Times reports that she wasn't on track to be elevated to a C-level executive.
Directions Magazine conducted an audio interview with Mayer in January 2011 on her job in location services for Google.
