Seminar Conclusion: We Need More Geospatial Scientists

A seminar hosted by Rep. Louise Slaughter, D-Fairport, [NY] focused on the need to replace scientists nearing reaching retirement age and on new jobs in the expanding field of geospatial science.

“The jobs are very plentiful and the students are in great, great demand,” William Destler, president of the Rochester Institute of Technology, said at the event held at the U.S. Capitol Visitors Center.

Exelis and USGIF were also in attendance. Another event in D.C. reviewing U.S. education standings with thos around the world found the U.S. programs are in need of improvement.
