The final program of activities of the largest conference and trade fair for geomatics and geospatial solutions in Latin America is available. The event will take place in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in June 18 to 20

 

Curitiba, December 19, 2012- MundoGEO#Connect LatinAmerica 2013, Conference and Trade Fair for Geomatics and Geospatial Solutions (http://mundogeoconnect.com/2013) is bringing its final programming, with more than 15 activities among seminars, special events, courses and user meetings. The third edition of the event will be held in June 18 thru 20 of 2013 at the Frei Caneca Convention Center, in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The previous edition had 3,350 participants from 27 countries and over 70 global brands in the trade fair.

There are several choices of activities, with custom bundles and discounts for early registrations, and special alternatives for researchers, teachers, students, groups and subscribers to the MundoGEO magazine. “Those interested in participating in the MundoGEO#Connect LatinAmerica Conference can choose from the 17 activities available. There are five courses, seven seminars and two special events, plus three free events. We expect more than 1,000 conference attendees and more than 3,000 visitors at the trade fair, which would have a total of 4,000 participants”, explains Emerson Zanon Granemann, director and publisher of MundoGEO.

The 2013 event program was elaborated from people’s suggestions, through the evaluation of the previous editions of the event and also a request for ideas in which professionals in the field sent their opinions on how to solve the key challenges of geospatial technologies in Latin America.

Courses
The mini-courses are six hours long and include a certificate of participation. They are aimed to the professionals who want to learn the basics and the possibilities of application of geospatial solutions.

  • Georeferencing of Rural Properties: What are the regulation improvements and obstacles in its implementation?
  • Geomarketing in Practice: What is it good for and how to implement the projects?
  • GIS in Public Management: How to avoid errors in the stages of design, contracting and system upgrade?
  • Rural Environmental Registry: Learn to make field surveys according to the new Forest Code
  •   patial Data Infrastructures (SDI): After all, why and how to introduce it?

Seminars
Each Seminar is six hours long throughout the day. They are focused on professionals who are already familiar with the technology and wish to broaden and understand the trends in the industry.

  • Geospatial Megatrends: What are the new opportunities created by the wide availability and sharing of geospatial data in this time of technological and cultural changes in society?
  • UAVs: Under what conditions Unmanned Aerial Vehicles are able to operate? Check out the applications and results.
  • Surveying Automation: How the new equipment and processes are revolutionizing productivity and opening up new markets in the surveying fields?
  • Satellite and Aerial Images: How to choose the best option or mapping choices to meet the needs of your project?
  • Geographic Information Systems: How GIS is reinventing itself to keep the pace with new market demands and promotes new technologies?
  • Geoinformation Public Managers: How to convince managers of territorial information to invest in intelligent and sustainable solutions for decision-making?
  •  OGC Geospatial Data Standards: Why professionals working with geospatial data and location services must know and use interoperability standards?

Special Events
Two simultaneous events will take place along with MundoGEO#Connect LatinAmerica 2013, one aiming at the sector of Location Based Services (LBS) and Business Intelligence, and other at geospatial technologies on the security and defense sectors.

  • Location Intelligence Conference Brazil: How to apply the geoinformation in the retail, banking, insurance, real estate, transportation and logistics?
  • Geointelligence Forum for Defense and Security: Discover how geographic intelligence can ensure greater efficiency and reduce costs in the security and defense management

Free Events
Free of charge meetings will take place into a designated area of MundoGEO#Connect LatinAmerica, open to all participants and visitors.

  • National Meeting of Surveyors Engineers and Cartographers: Debate on legislation and training of new geomatic professional of the XXI Century.
  • Integration Meeting: Government, University and Companies: A unique opportunity for representatives from government agencies, researchers and the private sector to discuss the research & development activities in the geospatial industry.
  • Geo Short Talks: See "quick'' presentations - ignite-shows style- with innovative solutions based on geospatial technologies.
