GEO Huntsville looks to cash in on fast-growing geospatial technology field

HUNTSVILLE, Alabama -- The U.S. Department of Labor estimates 180,000 new geospatial technology jobs will be created over the next decade, and Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle is confident that an initiative unveiled Monday will help the Rocket City land its fair share. GEO Huntsville is designed to encourage collaboration among the 50 private companies, 15 government agencies and three universities already heavily involved in geospatial work locally.
