ACTIVE has routes back to the early 1990s when it first developed its own geographic information system out of its work in the previous few years in computer aided design software programming. The initial and ongoing development cycle first brought analyst programmers into ACTIVE, a key role that remains today with highly tuned skills and experiences in spatial systems and data.
Since 1994, ACTIVE has built a significant UK public sector client base including over 100 NHS trusts, 50% of all community safety organisations, some 50 local authorities and range of regional and central government agencies and departments. These clients take a mixture of systems, data and professional services from ACTIVE on a regular basis to ensure their own investment in GIS is maximised.
Since 2000, there has been a growing income stream within the business associated with advisory and professional services. The skills within ACTIVE, coupled with the experience amongst its 15 man team and the range of systems and data that it has available have been put to many unique uses.
