On-line aerial photography of the Netherlands Aerodata Int. Surveys is proud to announce their new service: aeroGRID® on-line aerial photography, whereby the name aeroGRID stands for “aerodata Geo Referenced Image Database”. On the new website, www.aerogrid.nl, you have access to the aeroGRID® NL2003 product, a detailed digital aerial photo dataset of the entire territory of the Netherlands. The product is being offered with a GSD (ground sample distance) of 50cm and the maximum scale at which the imagery is still useable, is about 1:1.500. The photos were taken in colour, scale 1:30.000, within a period of approximately one month during the late spring / early summer, as a result of which they constitute a valuable snapshot in time of the Netherlands. Using sophisticated processing technology the 1.500 individual photos were processed into one seamless aerial photo dataset. Details such as vehicles and even lines on the road can easily be distinguished, so in its entirety it holds a treasure of information. From this 500 Gigabyte dataset any desired area can be downloaded at a moment’s notice or delivered from stock. On this dataset an independent quality control has been performed by the WUR-Centre for Geo-information in Wageningen (NL). Besides looking at the aerial photos on the website, the visitor can also choose for ImageConnect, a completely new product to the Dutch geo-information market introduced by Aerodata. The service enables the user to load aerial photography of the anywhere in the Netherlands directly into his GIS or CAD application. Besides offering the aeroGRID® NL2003 dataset now, Aerodata will soon start offering other datasets from its archive on their new website www.aerogrid.nl. This means high resolution imagery not only of numerous parts and cities all over Holland, but also of cities and parts of other countries.
