How has your usage of Google Maps changed since Google changed its data source from a well-known vendor to itself?
I use it the same way as before.
I use it about the same, but now I report errors.
I use it less.
I use it more.

Blue Marble Desktop

Overview

Powerful geospatial data conversion, translation and transformation just got more powerful. The Blue Marble Desktop is an all in one geospatial data management platform for Blue Marble’s popular data transformation tools. The Geographic Calculator and Geographic Transformer now reside in the same desktop window along with all of the capabilities of the Geographic Translator available on the Vector File Conversion tab. Work seamlessly with all of the features of both applications in a single interface through a combined license. Whether you are working with coordinate, vector, CAD or raster data the new Blue Marble Desktop allows you to address your data conversion challenges in the same application interface. Version 1.1 features expanded vector and CAD translation capabilities through the Geographic Calculator 7.2. Users can now translate between 20 different vector and CAD file formats. The ArcGIS Extension now features support for ESRI Spatial database conversions for SDE, File Geodatabase, and Personal Geodatabase.

The new desktop enables users to work off of the same geodetic datasource (GeoCalc.xml) across your organization regardless of location. The application platform features a jobs/projects/workspace protocol (project manager) that allows administrators and managers to set up templates for data conversion projects and share them with their users. Managers can also set up custom views and access levels to the geodetic datasource ensuring high quality data conversion work that will be free from the errors and mis-steps that can be so costly and time consuming when working with inferior applications.

With the Blue Marble Desktop, the user can create projects in the Project Manager that span coordinate conversions, vector and CAD file translations, image reprojection and transformations, tiling and mosaicking without having to start a second application. This all-in-one solution is backed by the most comprehensive data source available with the most current version of GeoCalc which is fully customizable. It's use and modification is also fully controllable by the Administrative tools provided by the Desktop. The new GeoCalc datasource has many great features including a merge tool for old GeoCalc.dat files, a signature on the datasource to detect corruption or inappropriate editing of definitions, consistency so you’ll always have the latest most current version, and much more.
