The departmental desktop standard

Cadcorp SIS 'out-of-the-box' Desktop GIS products run on Windows 2000, XP and Vista. The product suite ranges from an easy to use, free data viewing tool (Map Reader) right through to an advanced, 'high end' GIS (Map Modeller). All the benefits of Map Viewer plus:

Data access
Map Manager supports over 160 GIS and data sources. Immediate access to map databases, graphic files and ODBC compliant databases, reading data in their native formats – no translators required – resulting in faster use with no loss of information.
The Cadcorp SIS Base DataSet format (.bds) allows the combination of all geometric features – points, lines, polygons, images and text – within a single file.

Database connectivity is made swift and easy using support for ActiveX Data Objects (ADO).

Users can combine diverse datasets in multiple projections and create new composite views, without modifying the original underlying data.

Map presentation
Map Manager can display maps at any scale and provides a comprehensive range of pan, zoom and view commands for easy map navigation. Each overlay can be assigned a scale threshold to control when and how data is displayed.

Like all Cadcorp SIS products, Map Manager features the Roamer (magnifying glass) and Continuous Panning (for a swift, smooth rolling pan across base maps).

A rich set of thematic mapping tools are wizard driven, so that even a novice user can produce maps to help reveal patterns in data.

Queries
A query builder Wizard allows the user to build a query by picking items from a list. Experienced users can create complex, nested formulae for advanced analysis.

Map Manager includes the Cadcorp SIS 'Print wizard', providing users with unrivalled plot creation capabilities and the production of exactly the map you want.
Map Manager is fully integrated with Microsoft Windows environment, allowing the linking and embedding of maps in MS Window documents.
