Develop high-performance mapping software with GIS.NET. This component uses state-of-the-art vector and raster mapping technology to draw complicated maps of anywhere in the world.
This major release is a complete rewrite of our mapping framework. Support has also been added for "tilesets," a technology which divides maps into 256x256 images which can then be quickly drawn on a mobile device or an ASP.NET web site. Also, full EPSG-based coordinate conversions are included in this package.
GIS.NET 3.0 supports several geographic data formats: ESRI Shapefiles, MapInfo MIF/MID files, Google KML, GeoTIFF, and Geographic Markup Language (GML).
A single license of GIS.NET 3.0 licenses you for desktop computers, all mobile devices, and (coming soon) will also include a free upgrade to ASP.NET support.
