Overview

SheetGen™ provides easy-to-use menus and tools that enable pipeline engineers and drafters to create traditional pipeline alignment sheets directly from a continuous GIS data set. The SheetGen toolset is designed to use pipeline facility and geographic data residing within an industry-standard Gas Research Institute (GRI) ISAT compatible GIS database. SheetGen can be used as a stand-alone tool or accessed through the reporting function within PipeView™.

With SheetGen, alignment sheets become “reports” that are generated at a user’s request. The SheetGen software functions by clipping the land base and facility route graphics from the GIS model. Various bands of attribute data are then queried from the ISAT database and placed on the alignment sheet.

SheetGen allows users to define, generate and plot traditional pipeline alignment sheets within minutes. These new “reports” reflect the most current information contained in the GIS data model at the moment of creation. Modifications to the pipeline facility or land base are made in the GIS data model (not on the individual drawing files). New sheets can then be generated from the revised database.
