Overview

The integration of satellite data coming from radar and optical sensors, together with the scientific know – how regarding the geology of the territory provide us with the necessary information to recreate the three dimensional forms of the landscape. Considering that a Digital Elevation Model contains information about the latitude, longitude and the elevation it is possible to: - Calculate the slope, the orientation, the hill shade and the volume - Analyse and understand natural phenomena like landslides, floods and erosion processes - Individuate main rivers and water reservoirs - Support in the classification of different types of land cover
