Overview
Brief Overview of the Ship2save Transport Portal
Ship2save.com has identified a significant need for a new style of
facilitator in the transportation business.
Ship2save.com has recognized the need for an entity that more effectively
and efficiently brings both shippers of materials and carriers together
in a significantly more cost-worthy manner. Currently there are only a
few website offering a freight matching service in North America.
The portal Ship2save.com is offering is differentiated by offering the
features mentioned below. The new site would serve as a single point of
entry for customers who have traffic manager(s) dedicated to soliciting
and awarding carrier bids.
Instead of ‘x’ number of phone calls on the average necessary
to solicit, award and follow-up on a load, the new service will provide
the client personnel one access point to enter (once) and track a requirement.
They will be able to set an award time limit and then continue to work
on something else while the system takes care of all the bids offered.
The shippers would automatically be advised of bids and in the awarding
transaction, the bidding firm is automatically advised of the win via email.
With this bidding schema, shippers will avoid the annoyance of innumerable
intermediaries affecting their bottom line transport costs. With the analytic
tools that would be available to each company using the system, they will
be able to assess their traffic team’s record versus low bids, carrier
on-time deliveries, etc. Keep in mind that the traffic team could have
valid reasons for not accepting low bids based on a transporters credibility
and history. Carriers would also be able to offer qualified bids that might
not meet the client’s immediate need. Transporters will be able to view
the bid history of a shipment yet the transporter’s information is kept
private.
Another feature that is unique to our Transport Portal project is its
interactive mapping capabilities. The system allows for a variety of shipment
and equipment searching criteria. The mapping features give transporters
the ability to optimize their route, get directions, driving conditions,
locate points of interest (e.g. rest areas, petrol stations) and more importantly
reduce empty kilometers.
The Ship2save Transport Portal lets carriers and expediters establish
new business contacts allowing smaller carriers and expeditors to compete
with the larger ones.
