STRUDS on windows is an ideal CAD software solution for Structural Engineers. It provides an integrated modelling, analysis, design and drafting environment. STRUDS is extremely user friendly & highly interactive. STRUDS helps in tackling complicated structures with ease. STRUDS offers highly interactive menu driven graphical modelling features for input and output. Advanced Finite Element Analysis, completely automated Seismic & Wind load generation and interface with AutoCAD to provide design drawings are some of the highlighting features of this software.

GRAPHICAL INPUT
• Own Graphical data generator to draw the model of Building. • Import facility to accept Centre line Drawings drawn in AutoCAD ® • Automatic generation of Plane Frames & 3D Space Frame from Floor Plans. • Irregular Shaped slabs like triangular & Trapezoidal can also be drawn. • Automatic computation of loads from Slabs to beams. • Rectangular and circular column sections are available • Generation of curved members & Rectangular, T-section and L-sections • Automatic generation of Seismic loads (Response Spectrum Seismic Coefficient method) as per IS:1893. • Automatic generation of wind loads as per IS:875. • Editing features like copy, mirror, delete, multiple copy are available for quick modification of the drawing. • Member loads like Point load, UDL, wedge load, Triangular load, Torsional moment , flexural moment • External Joint loads & Joint moments can also be applied • Detail reports of all the input parameters are available at the click of a button • Architectural objects like doors, windows, lintel, chajja etc. can also be defined • STRUDS also provides an interface to create input file for STAAD® software.

ANALYSIS
• Advanced Finite Element Method & Stiffness Matrix Methods • 2-D analysis of Plane grids, Plane Frames and Plane Trusses • 3-D analysis or Space Frame Analysis • Seismic analysis using both Dynamic (Response Spectrum)method or Equivalent Static Method is supported • Master –Slave concept to account for wide columns • Optimised solution techniques adopted enhance analysis speed performance.

POST-PROCESSOR
• Analysis results for Space Frame, Plane frame or Floor Grid • Displays BMD, SFD, deflection of the entire Structure or the selected part or element according to our specified Load combination • User defined controls to view analysis diagrams & results reports Highlighting of maximum and minimum values of bending moment, shear force, Deflection and location of the point of Contraflexure. • Analysis results reports produced in both HTML & text format. These reports can also be exported to M S Excel ®

RCC DESIGN
• Analysis results are directly read by STRUDS to perform integrated Design using Limit State Method • Design could be performed for worst load combination or any specific load combination • The Codes to which the design Confirms are IS:1893; IS:456-2000; IS:800: IS: 13920; IS:3370 and BS:8110(I,II,III) ; BS:6399(I,II,III), BS:5950(I,II) and BS:5400(I) • The Design modules are highly interactive & designer can overwrite default parameters & results to make use of their

Slab Design
• One way, Two way & Cantilever slabs are designed with various boundary conditions recognised automatically from input drawing • Design of Rectangular, Triangular and Trapezoidal Slabs • Checks for Deflection & Flexure as per codal Provisions • View options to visualise the moments, areas of Steel and Slab Properties • Design Sketches showing reinforcements are generated • Design schedules, concrete & steel quantity report, detail design report.

Beam Design
• Design of Rectangular, T and L-beams and also Beams Curved in Plan • Design of Continuos, simply supported Cantilever & Propped Beams • Both singly & doubly reinforced beams are supported • Various Load combinations including Worst Load Combination available, to choose from for Design • Detailing options to either curtail or bent bars are available • Detailing as per IS :13920 for ductility provisions for seismic design • Design results are produced in tabular form & can be over written by designer based on his design experience • Produces the Longitudinal and cross-section of the beam designed • Top & bottom Steel area diagram for the beam to give bird-eye view of design • All checks performed for Deflection, Flexure, bond and lateral Stability

Column Design
• Integrated Axial , Uniaxial and Biaxial design of rectangular and Circular columns • Automatic Selection of worst load Combination . • Auto resizing of column section or user defined sections • Detailing as per IS:13920 for ductility including confinement reinforcement provisions for Seismic Design . • Two or four sided reinforcements with equal or unequal distribution of steel . • Redesigning and editing of the design results . • Automatic Computation of moments due to Slenderness and eccentricity • Step by step Design calculations in HTML format with diagrams.

Footing Design
• Automatic Integrated design for worst load combination. • Design of Isolated Trapezoidal and Flat Footings with or without Padestal . • Design of Rectangular and Trapezoidal Combined Footings with or without Beam. • Design of Under-reamed Piles with the design of the Pile cap . • Design of Raft Footing included . • View options for plan and elevation of the footing design Checks for Bond, bearing preassure, Shear along both Axes, Over turning. • Detail design report with step by step caqlculations are produced both in Text format as well as in HTML format.

STRUDS STAND ALONE DESIGN
STRUDS stand alone design modules are handy tools to design individual components of a building directly inputting basic dimensions, loadings & design parameters. • Slabs : Design of one way / two way / flat slabs with complete design reports as per IS:456-2000 • Beam : Rectangular, T or L shaped beams designed singly or doubly reinforced. Substitute frame method to consider column stiffness while designing continuous beams. UDL, Point Load, Wedge loads, Trapezoidal loads can be applied on beam spans. Design results produced in the form of Longitudinal sections, cross sections. Detail design reports, schedule reports & quantity reports. • Column : Columns subjected to axial load, uniaxial moments & biaxial moments. Column sections can be rectangular or circular. Column can be designed for worst load combination. Detail design report with step by step calculations & schedule reports. • Footings : Isolated, trapezoidal or flat footings with or without pedestal. Combined footings - Rectangular or Trapezoidal with or without strap beam. Design sketches & step by step calculations are produced.
